Your decisions will determine whether the United States leaves this conflict as one nation or two. In this turn-based strategy game, you will control the armies, research, production and diplomatic policy of either the Union or the Confederacy during a time of great innovation and dramatic battles. If you are interested in a historical, tactical multiplayer shooter, this game is for you.For the first time in the series’ history, Strategic Command will be taking you to the 19th century battlefields of the American Civil War. And playing with my company or the community is great fun. It has been on my wish list for a long time and I have never really regretted buying it. Early Access ReviewI bought War of Rights the day it came out on Steam. I understand the need to keep both the common player as well as the community hardcore Company members happy throughout the development yet the focus of Campfire Games is so.confused and unclear with a lack of development communication to the community, terrible technical issues, offensively restrictive server hosting and event hosting tools as well as pretty awful treatment of the European Community by Campfire Games make, all of which make me not recommend this game at the moment.#Developers don't listen to their loyal community. Yet feedback from the community is treated as negligeble because the games ratings are positive enough to warrent ignoring the community. In conclusion, I very much love and hate this game in its current state. It has gotten to the point where certain communities are trying manually to turn of objectives within the game, simply to enjoy a different type of event for once. Additionally, the pathetic inclusion of an admin tool (its so barebone it does not deserve this name) and the lack of server options and customizability of server settings on servers for which we as the community pay hundreds of dollars futher indicated that campfire games truely think of their hardcore community as imature children who can not be trusted with the tools to enjoy this game. Frequently password do not work correctly despite being entered correctly, causing massive problems with event hosting. After months of debate and testing the feature was finally implemented.so poorly that even now if you have entered the password incorrectly once, you will need to restart the game. Rather than focusing on the community aspect of the game, Campfire Games initially refused to implement a simple password feature to make event hosting for communities and companies easier and less prone to be a chaotic mess due to sudden invasions of other players. ![]() At this point, players will notice that features like the Company tool are irrelevant to the game as it is not integrated into the game client and has 0 effect on the game overall. Yet, how the development team appears to be thinking of these features is as lure words, to bait individuals into buying this game. The developers empathise that the games realistic approach to the portrayal of the US Civil War and the focus on the 'Company' as backbone of the community are the defining features of this game. Yet here is where my gripes with the game begin. Non the less, the aforementioned issues are far to common to dismiss and need to be adressed if the game wants to thrieve.Gameplay wise this game is.intense, the atmosphere is amazing and as a civil war reenactor I can certainly say that IF the game works as intended, the battlefield atmosphere is absolutly stunning and amazing. ![]() ![]() Yet it can not be denied that if the netcode and the engine work as intended its a work of beauty and passion by the development team. Netcode is attrocious to say the least: rubber banding, break down of the ingame voice chat and server disconnects are far to frequent from a titel at this stage in its development cycle. Yet, my time with this title and its community is beginning to alter my perception of the game that I used to love mostly due to the bizarre attitude of some of its development staff.Technically this game looks impressive with beautiful smoke and weather effects, yet to this day remains increadibly unoptimized with. Early Access ReviewWar of Rights is a unique game among its peers of historical games which to this day remains a promising project by a small development team.
